Measuring your health. Do you?

About 18 months ago, I wondered how I was doing in terms of personal health. What were my exercise, eating, and sleeping patterns? Was I investing in my personal well-being? How was my mood?It took me about a year to get around to working to answer some of these questions, but 7 months ago, I created a Google Form that I call my Personal Health Manager. Since December 2017, I’ve logged 215 days of data across 25 questions I ask myself. It’s been interesting to see how this has become part of my morning routine, serving as a 10 minute reflection period for the prior day (I journal along with it).Next step will be to spend some time with this data and identify some patterns. I’ll share those once I actually dig in. How do you go about monitoring your health, both physical and mental? I’d love to hear more about how you track it.

Reads Worth Highlighting

Taking on Debt to Grow Our Own Way

The Founders of Wistia (a video software company) raised a growth debt round to not exit, buy out their investors, and continue building what they call an “independent” business.“We turned down the offer to sell Wistia and instead took on $17.3M in debt. This allowed us to buy out our investors, gain full control of Wistia, and take the path less traveled in the tech industry.”Definitely the path less traveled but likely to become more common. Props to them.

One calculator platform to rule them all

Care to know what you need to do to burn off all the calories you consumed watching the World Cup for a month or how much you can drink on St. Patty’s day?Great News! The folks at Omnicalculator seem to have invested an inordinate amount of time figuring it out for you. They actually have some useful ‘business’ calculators, but the ‘other’ category is where the “platform” truly shines.

Developing a Pitch that Will Get You Funded | You’ve read a thousand, maybe more, tips on how to create the perfect pitch. You’ve been practicing enunciation and using your diaphragm to project to the room. But none of it means diddly squat if you’re not getting any offers.
